Cutthroat Shave

Cutthroat shaving is the most traditional way to shave and thought to be the most masculine way. Going to your local barbers and requesting a cut throat shave will probably make their heart sink but the element of danger that comes with cut throat shaving can be seen as manly. Here are a few steps to get the perfect shave with a cutthroat razor.

· Hold a hot flannel against your face in preparation for the shave. It will make it easier when it comes to
  shaving your beard.

· Run your hot water and wait until it is boiling. Soak your brush in the water.

· Make sure there is no excess water in the brush otherwise the cream will be diluted. Lather the brush with
the cream and leave it until you can apply it to your face.

· Wet your face before you lather up

· Apply the cream to the desired areas using the brush like a paintbrush, making sure the cream is still lathery
and stiff peaks have been formed

· Wipe away the extra lather with a hot towel

· Leave the cream for about 5 minutes to allow the moisture to penetrate into the skin. If it has dried out,
repeat the process but leave it for less time

· Stretch the area of skin you want to shave until it is tight

· With a 20 degree angle put the blade on your skin, careful not to slice it and cut the hair as close to your
skin as possible. Glide the razor down your face rather than up otherwise it is more likely to cut your face.

· You will repeat this procedure twice more so after completing the full first shave lather up again and repeat
   the process

· After doing this three times rinse the lather off your face with cold water so your pores can close

· Dry the razor and hang the brush upside down to allow it to dry Ensure you take care when completing this
procedure to reduce the risk of any injuries. Maintain your cutthroat razor with the correct care to prolong
   its life.
