Non-Surgical Hair Loss Treatments

For some, surgical hair replacement may not be a reasonable idea. Whether it is due to the cost of the treatment or simply due to the procedure you have to undergo, hair loss may be a problem but you simply don’t want to undergo surgery, however there are a number of different options available to you, which will be less expensive, whilst offering the same service.

Micro Hair Technique
This method, although it won’t promote hair growth will in fact mimic the appearance of hair follicles on the scalp. Using different needles on the head, they enhance the hair that is already present and match that style for an all round natural image. The size and depth of the needle will depend on the desired look and hairline. The overall hairstyle can be customised to suit the person, depending on their desire.

Lotions
Minoxidil is the active ingredient in many hair loss lotions that effectively treats the symptoms of androgenic alopecia, or male pattern hair loss. The ingredient revitalises hair follicles, making them bigger in order to slow down the process of balding. It also allows for hair regrowth over time to allow for thicker hair in a relatively short period of time, that is completely natural. Unfortunately, the lotion is likely to be ineffective for those who have already experienced complete hair loss.

Tablets
Tablets are an effective way of targeting hair loss and propecia, present in the majority of hair loss tablets. Propecia works by blocking DHT from forming and resulting in hair loss. It works on the scalp and stops male pattern hair loss from occurring. There are a lot of pills available to prevent hair loss, many which is available over the counter. However, they should be taken according to the instructions, as side effects may be noticeable.

David Beckham Claims Prize for all Top 10 Hairstyles

It would be difficult to find any other male celebrity that has had more hairstyles than David Beckham. With only a couple of failures, he is probably one of the biggest style icons for younger generations and has been for years. His full head of hair has allowed him to create the most unique styles, changing his haircut more than his clothes. The footballer has tried some of interesting looks and has seemingly pulled off every single one, even the curtains.

The number one hairstyle was the quiff. This is Beckham’s most recent hair venture and has put his own stamp on it, by creating a half shaved quiff. He has shaved the bottom half of his head and kept the top long and swept back. Recently, his hair seems to have become relatively similar recently, with some subtle differences. His thick, full hair has gained the envy of British men all over the country, with many requesting their barber to give them a haircut just like him.

However, his most famous hairstyles have to be during his British football career. He has gone through a number of different styles, some bad but ultimately they have all been great. His spikey crop had men all across the country requesting a do like Beckham’s when they visited their local barbershop. His centre parting also ranked, coming second when the vote was carried out, along with his ponytail that came last.

It seems his legacy is living on and many men in the public eye are creating modern versions of Beckham’s styles. Zayn Malik, star of One Direction, has adopted the quiff, making it bigger and better than ever, taking inspiration from the football forward. Pop sensation Justin Bieber has also placed in the top ten hairstyles with the forehead sweep claiming third prize. Of course, Beckham has already sported the style during his career.

Cutthroat Shave

Cutthroat shaving is the most traditional way to shave and thought to be the most masculine way. Going to your local barbers and requesting a cut throat shave will probably make their heart sink but the element of danger that comes with cut throat shaving can be seen as manly. Here are a few steps to get the perfect shave with a cutthroat razor.

· Hold a hot flannel against your face in preparation for the shave. It will make it easier when it comes to
  shaving your beard.

· Run your hot water and wait until it is boiling. Soak your brush in the water.

· Make sure there is no excess water in the brush otherwise the cream will be diluted. Lather the brush with
the cream and leave it until you can apply it to your face.

· Wet your face before you lather up

· Apply the cream to the desired areas using the brush like a paintbrush, making sure the cream is still lathery
and stiff peaks have been formed

· Wipe away the extra lather with a hot towel

· Leave the cream for about 5 minutes to allow the moisture to penetrate into the skin. If it has dried out,
repeat the process but leave it for less time

· Stretch the area of skin you want to shave until it is tight

· With a 20 degree angle put the blade on your skin, careful not to slice it and cut the hair as close to your
skin as possible. Glide the razor down your face rather than up otherwise it is more likely to cut your face.

· You will repeat this procedure twice more so after completing the full first shave lather up again and repeat
   the process

· After doing this three times rinse the lather off your face with cold water so your pores can close

· Dry the razor and hang the brush upside down to allow it to dry Ensure you take care when completing this
procedure to reduce the risk of any injuries. Maintain your cutthroat razor with the correct care to prolong
   its life.

Game of Thrones Style for All Men

Like many culture-defining television shows; the styles of Game of Thrones have created a surge of replicators and copycats. Despite the fact that the show is based in a tweaked version of Earth with endless differences in terms of physics, culture and appearance; many men from all around the world are trying to recreate the haircuts seen by many of the men in Game of Thrones. Here are a few tips to replicate the hairstyles of the most iconic characters of the books and television shows.

Ned Stark
Sean Bean portrays the main protagonist at the start of the series. A man as brave as he is tough; Ned Stark represents the ideal for many men hoping to maximise their masculinity. For any man with a strong jawline; the Ned Stark look is well within your grasp. Allow neat stubble to grow from your chin and upper lips. Visit your Barber Shop and allow your Hairdresser to keep the stubble in check and neat whilst trimming your hair. Grow your hair to roughly shoulder length and brush slightly backwards. The hair does not need to be combed perfectly as imperfections add to the masculine charm.

Jaime Lannister
The Jaime Lannister look could be described as a clean-shaven Ned Stark. Resplendent in gold plates, the Lannister Lion could be a stylistic role model for anybody with blonde lock. Like Stark, this look starts with long hair. More care needs to be taken when brushing back the hair for the Jaime style. Consult you Designer Hairdresser for advice as to what hair care products you should use. To complete the look make sure that you are clean shaven at all times.

Jon Snow
Ned Starks illegitimate child is described as loving his hair more than any girl. A semi-perm adorns the head of the young Snow boy. If your hair is not naturally curly, ask your Barber to crimp and perm it to create the sensation of waves. It needs to be kept mid length and conditioned regularly to ensure a healthy shave. Combine this with regular shaves to complete the Jon Snow look.

Shaving Tips for Sensitive Skin

Those who suffer from sensitive skin are likely to be feeling the pinch more than ever at this time of year. The cold snap often serves to only intensify the suffering that the sensitive skinned are forced to face. This can make shaving a painful chore to carry out in front of a frosting mirror every morning. However, with a little care and a sprinkling of know-how, shaving with a wince and a grimace can become a thing of the past. You will now longer have to visit your Barber Shop for a close shave that will not bring a tear to your eye.

Invest in Shaving Soap

The vast majority of shaving cream from cans is just lubricating fluff. Men with sensitive skin require a thick, wholesome lather to protect and nourish the skin. A bar of shaving soap when combined with a sprinkling of water can produce this effective lather. Using shaving soap bars that contain only natural ingredients from The Body Shop can help soothe the skin during a shave.

Exfoliate and Clean the Face before a Shave

Taking a hot shower can help rid the face of dead skin cells and softens the hair. A quality face scrub will get any excess dead skin from the face. This will make the shave a lot smoother and reduce the irritation. An easier shave will lead to a far pleasant shave and a smoother end result. +King Barber Shop & Hairdresser

Perfect your Technique

You may be forced to forget the lessons that your father taught you as a 14 year old in front of the bathroom mirror. It is time to perfect a shaving technique tailored to sensitive skin. After leaving the shower, fill the sink with water. Then proceed to wet your shaving brush and face. Work up a good lather and apply to the face. Use downward razor strokes and rinse the razor between each stroke. Always save the neck until last as that is where the hairs are coarsest and need to most softening from the lather.

Personalised Movember Styles

We are now approaching the half-way mark of Movember. Those budding moustaches are hopefully starting to blossom and display their own unique personalities and characteristics. It is at this point that the moustache grower must start to seriously consider which style his moustache undertakes. For many, Movember is the first time they will grow a full moustache and will not be schooled in the art of moustache care. Here is a guide for a few simple but effective moustache styles for all appearances.

Brunettes

Simple, bold and masculine; the Chevron moustache (affectionately known as the Magnum P.I) is the height of macho looks. Crafting the Chevron is effortless; simply trim any stray or unwanted hairs and comb downwards. Due to its ever-presence on the eponymous detective’s lip; the Chevron has an unfaltering effect on middle aged women. There is also a very good chance your dad tried to grow so you can ask him for tips.

Blondes

The blonde moustache grower is often a troubled man; so few of history’s great moustachioed men have had fair hair. Until one Hulk Hogan made the Handlebar moustache the proud property of the blondes. So iconic; enter any Barber Shop in Birmingham or any other city in the country with a blonde Handlebar and you will treated with the greatest reverence. Excess bushiness is not an issue with the Hulk, simply shave into the shape and let the ‘tache do the talking.

Dark Skinned

Dark skinned men are commonly blessed with dark facial hair. Whilst this may a problem when attempting to create the clean shaven look; moustache growth benefits greatly. Take advantage of this blessing with the Pencil moustache. The Pencil is an impossible feat for many, many men. The Pencil requires the steady hand and professionalism most commonly found in the Barber Shop. One slip from an inexperience hand and the whole moustache is gone.

Top Tips for Maintaining that Movember Moustache

For the whole of November: men across the UK and the rest of the world will be letting their moustaches grow and their support show. The main noble aim of Movember may be to raise money and attention for prostate and testicular cancer and support those suffering from it; but this does not mean that you cannot look good whilst doing it. For many men this will be the first time they have allowed the hair on their upper lip to grow past the length of a couple of days’ stubble. This presents certain grooming problems due to inexperience. Here are a few tips for maintaining a well-shaped and attractive moustache.

Visiting your Barber Shop on a regular basis during the month will help maintain a good shape to your moustache. Inexperienced moustache growers may find the intricate shaping and shaving troublesome in a mirror. The artists Kings Barber Shop in Birmingham are especially skilled in the fine art of moustache care. Whichever style you are going for, this Hairdresser in Birmingham like many around the country can cater for your needs.

Stock up on styling products. This is especially necessary if you are having an especially stylised moustache. The Poirot and the Dali require constant attention and care to avoid drooping and loss of shape. Small moustache combs can be bought to produce excellent results.

When times are tough during Movember it is vitally important to surround yourself with fellow moustachioed friends. The support that you will receive from fellow moustache growers will help encourage you along the way. These friends can also help provide invaluable style tips if your chosen moustache is not working out as well as planned. Offer your own advice and support as well to really feel an integral part of this valuable moustache community.

Most importantly, wear the moustache with pride. After all you're doing a brilliant thing in helping to contribute towards great charitable work. If an obnoxious teenager mocks your paltry effort; just lift your head and remind yourself that you are serving a greater purpose by growing this moustache.
